Fresh off the release of their collaborative album with members of Pro Era and the Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers are back with the third installment to their Lords Of Flatbush series. On Lords Of Flatbush 3 Beast Coast representatives, AK and Issa Gold came to give an updated word on what was started six years ago.
The growth and success have changed some of the dynamics for the duo. On LOF3, the lyrical content isn’t the positive lessons and universal wisdom from young psychedelic fueled indigo children like we have heard from them on past projects, including on their last solo project After The Rain. This time, it’s nine straight tracks of absolute aggressive bangers. You get the sense that the boys have fully embraced where their lives are today. No longer are they just a couple of friends who together, with an innovative approach to rap music, made it out of the broken streets of Flatbush Brooklynn. These two have evolved into being two figure points of the underground hip-hop community, bonafide in the scene, accustomed to the life of status and luxury – and this is their moment to let us know it.
Some of the standout tracks are ”Rowdy,” “Stone Cold,” “Randy Moss,” and “Packs.”
