Three days after the release of his debut mixtape “Day 69,” Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine found himself at the center of attention during the video shoot for “BILLY.” Overcrowded streets in the middle of New York City caused the NYPD to shut down the function, which was previously promoted on Instagram by Tekashi and his associates.

Initially, rumors broke saying that 6ix9ine was arrested following the riot; but these have proven to be false as Police released the rapper after holding him due to safety precautions. “We know he’s getting popular in the community,” the NYPD tells XXL. “We just want people to be safe.”
