When you talk about the new generation of Philadelphia you have to mention new emerging artist Bls-zy and she's definitely someone you want to keep an eye out for. Recently dropping an official music video for “Straight Facts” directed by Shod Films, Bls-zy keeps viewers intrigued by her ability to describe meaningful moments of her life with a compassionate message for her family and friends throughout the music & video combined. With the video just under 4 minutes in length, it is centered by a dance that Bls-zy's sisters came up with on their own.
The song consists of unique flows with melodies over an emotional guitar tune & heavy 808's & not to mention an outstanding verse from Bls-zy's brother FN Tone. Both artists explain some of the hardships they've dealt with growing up in the streets of Philadelphia, PA. Here's a direct quote from the song, “RIP Bop, I miss him” this is a moment the artist takes to mention her older brother Bop, who passed away back in March of 2019 due to street violence. The music video ends with a clip of Bop, freestyling over a beat, the clip shows Bop was a talented young man just like his brothers and sisters. Bls-zy also expressed the passing of her grandmother & describes her grandmother as the “backbone of our family", so it's not hard to see where this motivation spawns from & for a listener to relate. With the weight of the world on Bls-zy's shoulders, the young artist has hopes to make a career off music for a better life not only for herself but for her family. Without a doubt, Bls-zy will be making a lot of noise from now on and we at Elevator strongly suggest for everyone to be on the lookout!
