Smokepurpp was the first guest on the second season of Peter Rosenberg‘s show ‘Open Late’ on Complex. During their lengthy interview, the legendary Hot 97 affiliate speaks with the Florida rapper on a number of topics including J Cole, drug usage, recent deaths in the hip-hop community and more.
For a segment on the show, Smokepurpp was presented with a series of vinyl records and asked to explain the album’s significance. The first selected LP was Blink-182, to which Purpp responded with some highly exclusive info.
“I’m actually working on an EP with Travis Barker right now,” he excitedly told Rosenberg. “We’re actually going to drop it under one name, like a band.”
Smokepurpp also announced that he plans to eventually drop the ‘Smoke’ from his stage name saying, “I’m gonna change it to just ‘Purpp’ soon.” Watch the full interview between Peter Rosenberg and Smokepurpp below.
