It’s easy to oversaturate a project with too many tracks. It happens all the time to some of our favorite artists. Slowthai’s stirring 17-track studio debut album Nothing Great About Britain is not one these projects. An unapologetically introspective look into the mind of the rapidly rising star, the project features an array of sonic landscapes as the emerging talent highlights his versatility with standout tracks like “Doorman” and “Gorgeous” early on in the album’s sequence. From there, listeners are greeted with a barrage of decidedly more high-octane tracks including “Inglorious” featuring Skepta before Thai trades this for a more subdued approach on “Toaster”. The project itself is a rollercoaster of emotions and tones.
