In Hip-Hop, one of my favorite creative relationships to watch blossom is that between artist and videographer. It’s almost surreal when you see a duo clique up and create pure magic together, displaying a chemistry that can’t even be put into words. That’s the kind of relationship Ski Mask The Slump God and scorching videographer, Cole Bennett have. Continuing their streak of all heat, no misses—the duo returns with their new video, “Faucet Failure”.
Produced by CHASETHEMONEY, the track for, “Faucet Failure” is not much different than your everyday Ski Mask track. Utilizing his otherworldly flow to get off some of the most astonishing and out-of-place lyrics I’ve heard in recent memory, the genius of Ski is how he gets you to forget all of that, and uses his voice as some sort of an instrument along with the production.
Visually, this shit is ridiculous. Accentuating Ski’s extraterrestrial flow with vibrant colors, wonky effects and human props — is that Ski in the future? — the duo creates a fun, easygoing video that plays into Ski’s personality perfectly. One day, I hope to see these two make a short comedy film or something.
