This is one of the best EPs I have heard this year.

Wow. I am in absolute awe of this project. Samron Agnew’s raw talent is clearly evident throughout this entire EP, and the myriad of flows in his bag are on full display. Track one, “Lullaby” is reminiscent of only one artist I can think of, and that is early XXXTentacion. The flow isn’t the exact same, but the bellicose aggression and sheer power his voice produces are jaw-dropping. Samron also is able to drop from fully screaming to dropping to a much lower tone for a few bars and immediately returning to his screaming chants.

Track two “YEAH!” moves in a totally opposite direction. Instead of screaming, Agnew created a perfect hook for jumping to at a show and shows off more of his pure rapping skills in a drab, monotone fashion, but that shift is welcome after the absolute firestorm that was Lullaby. Track three, “KILL HIM!” returns to the incredibly confrontational hook that we heard before, but also reverts to a delightfully philosophical spoken word piece that was unexpected to say the least.

This was one of the best EPs I have heard this year and I honestly am enchanted by the talent of Samron Agnew. We covered the Indiana artist a few weeks ago, and in that short time it is evident that he is progressing musically at a rapid rate.
