Rarin compares his music to Lil Peep's, which some consider a "coping mechanism" to. Recently dropping his debut mixtape Toxic Ends, Rarin can provide uptempo bangers and more introspective musings on his life, effortlessly spotlighting his versatility as an artist. Rarin also releases his highly anticipated music video "Cash Out" Featuring North Carolina's Darius King. The video shows Rarin sliding through the water on a Jet Ski. Great video to match the vibe of the song. Rarin continues to build his catalog with high streaming numbers on every drop. I had a quick Q&A with Rarin to find out who he is.
How did you get so into music at a young age?
a. It was honestly my curiosity that got me into it. I like to experiment a lot, so I started messing around recording with a mic I had by chance. Little did I know a hobby that I didn’t take seriously at first would turn into my biggest passion and a career.
How would you go about describing the sound of your music?
a. My sound is a mix between Hip-Hop and Pop; however, I don’t have a particular sound I stick with. I usually record anything I’m feeling, pop, rock, rap, or anything that sounds good.
What made you decide to drop a mixtape at this point in your career?
a. I recognized that generally when fans listen to singles, they seem to miss the importance of the lyrics; they don’t recognize its purpose. I don’t blame them for it, as singles aren’t a significant matter. That’s why I wanted to drop an album. I wanted to drop something musically significant to draw attention to a message I was trying to send.
Where does the subject matter of your songs come from?
a. I think the point of writing and releasing music is to connect with the world, so most of my songs are about my personal experiences as I hope to bring people together with my music.

Who are you inspired by?
a. Lil Peep, Travis Scott, and BillieTravis Scott Eilish. I don’t necessarily derive my inspiration from them in recording my music, but I admire them as artists for what and how they achieved in their careers.
Who are your friends in music?
a. I’m friendly with everyone, but my best friends in the scene are Lil Uber, Syn Beats, and Ross Gossage.
Who is your dream collab?
a. Probably The Kid Laroi; his style and versatility are crazy, so it would be a dream to work with him.
What is your creative process like?
a. I usually start listening to a beat for inspiration then start freestyling to get some content down. After that, I keep repeating that process while polishing my lyrics and making them better.
Now that music venues are opening up, do you plan on touring?
a. Definitely. I want to practice a little bit with some smaller shows before I go on tour, but I definitely plan to tour at some point.
What should listeners who may be hearing you for the first time know about Rarin?
a. They should know that I’m friendly and that being part of my fanbase is like a family.
