psykhi gives us a reflective lo-fi anthem for healing.
Imagine yourself, as you currently are, but you are alone on a desert road, dying of thirst, walking limpidly towards a mountain in the distance in attempt to find water. That is how this Punk-riddled lo-fi song from psykhi makes me feel. The only thing that keeps you walking is your inner drive and passion to find that water. Even if it is not there, you don't care, you are just determined to get to it even if it kills you. He captures this feeling perfectly. The serene, melodramatic vocals are a battle cry, not one for help.
The inflections in his voice resonate the pain that he feels; "for [him] the water's ran dry". However, he reassures himself that "[he'll] be [his] wishing well." The melodies reinstate this self-motivated energy, with some epic guitar riffs. psykhi also goes into a verse telling the story of a disconnect between him an a former lover. The groovy, emotive guitar along with the smooth, rhythmic drums build nicely into the next break. The second one hits even harder after we have learned of the turmoil that this man has endured.
