Earlier this month, Bay Area rap staple, P-Lo, gifted his city this uplifting track “Good,” featuring fellow hometown rapper Larry June. Coming off of a Dub Nation high after performing at half-time for the Golden State Warriors’ first game in the NBA championship, P-Lo shares the first glimpse into his upcoming, full-length album, STUNNA. Released via EMPIRE, the new single’s relaxed bounce and turntable scratches lay out a template for the infectious energy that P-Lo has been bringing to the West Coast sound. “With so many things in life that try to bring you down, it’s important to keep on going,” P-Lo shared. “I want people to play my music and feel good about themselves, that’s what it’s about.” He adds that the influence of funk is something he wanted to bring to light in a new way and sonically, it blended his and Larry’s sound well.
