In memoriam of his late father, EARTHGANG's Olu recently shared a cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On." As Olu recalls, his father would always play his songs during church. July 24th marked the two-year anniversary of his passing. Losing a loved one is never easy, but Olu has grown stronger over the years. In an open letter, he recalls Dreamville flying his mother out during the "Sacrifices" music video shoot. It was another special moment for Olu, saying that it brought him "unspeakable joy."
In a recent op-ed via DJBooth, Olu wrote "This cover is my gift to my father and anyone separated from loved ones, or feeling low or apathetic about the current state of our world. Y’all keep your heads high and your spirits higher. We will get through this and love more and more on the other side." Check out the full cover below.
