Sometimes you just know you’re going to be in your feelings when the guitar hits the right way. New single “Emotionless” by Massachusetts’ own Nick Rivera is exactly that. He’s talking about the emotionless disposition he gets when he’s on the drugs. He’s aware but hoping that a lady can still love him and care for him even if he can’t return it.
The guitar ballad features some drums that are powerful but not too overwhelming, allowing the ballad to maintain its mid-tempo format. The beat switch at the end was a big surprise, but pretty cool. It’d have been interesting to see what a verse at that speed would’ve been like. Regardless, Rivera’s melodic vocals and the sonic progression make this an easy yet attention-grabbing two minute, 36-second listen.
Rivera’s gearing up to make his clothing brand Not Nice blow alongside his music this year. The Harlem-born 19-year-old has potential surely. It’s just a matter of continuing to get better and standing out. Stream “Emotionless” below and stay tuned for what’s next.
