"It Hurts" is the first single that's made it my way from 16-year-old rapper Nazzy The Mic and I have to say I'm impressed. barely old enough for a driver's license, the Philadelphia native presents deeper thoughts and writing on this track than I've heard from artists with decades more life experience. Perhaps she benefits from the innocence of adolescence, but regardless she's able to not only tell a story in her own unique way, but rap well while doing it. It may seem like a low bar, but she's proving she has the skillset to keep going beyond her 20s. The openness in her sexuality and Muslim faith, love of the streets all seen through her perspective comes delivered correctly. "I love the way we vibe but I just hate the way I bleed" - c'mon man. I'm excited to hear more asap.
