The last few years have been plagued with the disease of overdose, and so many great artistic lights of our generation have been lost to this horrible illness that keeps even the most successful, outwardly happy people in its horrible clutches. Just days ago we lost one of the most beautiful souls in the modern music scene, as Mac Miller was tragically claimed by addiction. So many people have responded in the same ways to these tragic passings. Many will criticize the addict, accuse them of being a junkie or blame them for succumbing to the sickness that is drug dependency. There is such little empathy surrounding this tragic subject, but Lorine Chia aims to change that.

Lorine opts to uplift watchers and provide information about substance abuse, rather than belittle those who struggle with it. Aside from the beautiful message of the track, Lorine‘s velvety voice croons over the track with her signature upbeat passion. This video can’t help but make me smile and is a simple expression of kindness in a culture devoid of all empathy.
