Virginia’s 909Memphis seems poised for a big summer. After releasing his highly anticipated Mixed Feelings album earlier in 2019, he stayed quiet and let fans and listeners sit with the music. Memphis has been honing in on a completely different sound, and continues developing it all the time. These new releases are a testament to that development, as he lays blissful and airy vocals over a cool, musical and summery instrumental from Daniel Hartzog, Lando, and Yung Tago on “For Real.” “Lifestyle” is another summer anthem, with a feel good instrumental to mesh with Memphy’s sonically pleasing autotune.
