Lerado Khalil has been saying for months now that Shark Fin Soup will be the best project he’s ever put out. Now the long-awaited day has come, and it’s hard to disagree with him. With a loyal line of producers in Moistbread, Gunlock, Deaf, and Nolanberollin and some iconic placements in Sadbalmain and Bobby Johnson, the cynical rapper’s team has the family-like relationship needed to span the gap between regular and extraordinary.

The eight-piece album seems to be a reflection on the rapper’s short, yet matured time on this earth. Whether it’s doing whatever it takes to support an exhausted mother or proactively denouncing love with teenaged girls, it’s clear that Lerado’s bleak outlook on life is due to a long list of adversities. It’s true that the darkest minds can create some of the most beautiful art though, and his lyrics reveal that the St. Paul native knows what he’s capable of.

Although his attitude can be very unforgiving to any that oppose him, the 19 year-old shows mad love to his supporters, so you should find company with them by streaming Shark Fin Soup below.
