Kush.wav continues to show impressive progression.

From the opening piano keys, you can sense something different is coming. New York City’s Kush.wav set the stage for a layered experience made up of bouncy vocals and abrupt flow switches titled “Young Nic.” His manipulation of autotune and ability to create melodies is on full display, not to mention overall song construction. It’s almost like a chapter book.

“Young Nicotine mixed with young lean, young codeine in my bloodstream, all these young hoes wanna know me, mixin mixin mixin that’s an OD.” The 23-year-old is all about a good time, and he isn’t selfish with the movements. If it’s a party for Kush, it’s a party for everybody. And as much as the young rapper enjoys a good time, he is also about his grind. The hook appropriately finishes off with the phrase “Stay young forever, chasin’ paper, they young forever, they ain’t wake up” reminding everyone of his laser focus.

For the long-haired lyricist, it’s his strong entry in 2019. 2018 he released singles “Caliente” and “Call Me When I’m Famous” before going into hibernation and plotting on this year.

He’s started off with this immersive, multi-faceted track and it certainly has me wondering what’s next. Check out “Young Nic” and stay tuned for what’s next from Kush.wav.
