Kanye West made huge headlines the other day when he was pictured meeting with Donald Trump. Speculation began as to why, and many people found themselves angry at Yeezy for even slightly associating himself with the president-elect. There was no true insight as to what they were talking about during their meeting, yet rumors swirled.
Well, in true Kanye fashion, the most famous college dropout explained himself on Twitter:
I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues.

These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.

I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.

While this may not be an exciting answer or the one many (especially major media outlets) were hoping for, it certain provides a subtle sense of relief, as these two together could make a big impact—good or bad.
I don’t necessarily take this as him supporting Trump, though his closing tweet “#2024” does hint at the fact he acknowledges Trump may have a second term, given the fact he planned to run in 2020.
