Building her empire in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee as a songwriter, it was Jozzy‘s continuous drive toward her passion in music that led her to working with Timbaland, finding herself under Missy Elliott‘s mentorship and as a now current Columbia Records signee. Formally known as Jocelyn Donald, her individualistic nature, along with her pioneering spirit allowed her to land her writing contributions to many talented names such as Pharrell Williams, Summer Walker, Metro Boomin, & Ella Mai just to name a few. Jozzy also wrote Billy Ray Cyrus‘ verse on Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road”, the now longest running #1 hit in history, landing her a Grammy nomination for “Song of the Year”.

It’s safe to say that providing chart-topping lyrics and melodies is second nature for Jozzy. Aside from her outstanding accomplishments as a songwriter, Jozzy has been coming into her own as an artist. Prior to her most recent release, Jozzy and icon Lil Wayne teamed up for their collaborative single “Sucka Free”.

There’s no denying the fact that Jozzy has always been in touch with her innermost creator. When asked about the inspirations behind her newest single “Let You Down, Let You Go”, Jozzy mentioned the following: “When you find someone that you don’t wanna lose in your life, you’d rather let them down with your lies and actions then let them go completely out your life. That’s the selfishness of love that’s not good but exists.
