Time after time, I find myself wondering how Ethereal is so goddamn underrated. The Awful Records affiliate is responsible for helping shape the careers of countless Atlanta rappers, yet receives little-to-no credit for the sound he’s helped shape.

Hopefully his new album “Mankind” will change things, as the 17-track project is one of his strongest efforts yet. Chock full of rattling instrumentals and features from Father, Lord Narf & more, the full-length does a fantastic job at showcasing Ethereal’s heavily influential style.
