The description for DONTKALLMELUXXY‘s “Shooters” video says “down south music with New York twist” and it hit the nail on the head. There’s a clear southern influence in the heavy bass and drums, but simultaneously I get the urge to hit that dance everyone does when “Stoopid” comes on.

It’s a somewhat menacing video, with a big group surrounding the New York rapper and weapons present. “Pull up with the sawed off, you can call the dogs off.” The dude is a bit frightening, but you can’t deny the dance moves. He’s smooth, a true dual threat. How do you really compete with someone you can’t out dance or handle physically?

“Better move em back because we shooting crowds” sounds like he’s foreshadowing what is to come this year. 2019 is anyone’s for the taking, and so far we haven’t seen a strong claim at the throne. Perhaps it’s Luxxy’s time. Check out the video for “Shooters” below and see for yourself.
