common goldfish, the musical alter ego of Jonty Lovell, resurfaces as a dynamic force in the music scene, seamlessly blending genres and channeling nostalgia. In a dazzling comeback, common goldfish unveils 'Tottenham Ritzy,' a single paying homage to London's early '80s and late '90s rave culture. Inspired by hardcore DJ Slipmatt's reflections on the golden era, the track immortalizes an old North London nightclub, encapsulating the infectious energy and euphoria that once ruled dance floors across the nation.

The aptly titled 'Tottenham Ritzy' is a sonic tribute to a bygone era, offering a glimpse into the vanished spirit of a venue that held iconic status in London's rave culture. Reflecting on the inspiration, common goldfish shares, “To be honest as a local artist, there wasn’t much of a thought process after that. I just felt compelled to make a track and share the story of the venue, and this is what it ended up being.” The track, enriched by Lovell's close collaboration with artist Dabieh, transcends the boundaries of rave music, amalgamating various genres to create a groove that echoes common goldfish's distinctive sound.

'Tottenham Ritzy' not only echoes the beats of a bygone era but also visually narrates a quest for the now-demolished nightclub. Accompanied by a music video shot on VHS camcorders across iconic Tottenham locations, the visuals aim to emphasize the social and cultural significance of preserving UK nightlife. In this musical and visual journey, common goldfish skillfully merges the old school rave spirit with a contemporary edge, offering a vivid portrayal of the euphoria and unity that defined the dance floors of '80s and '90s London. 'Tottenham Ritzy' marks a compelling return for common goldfish, hinting at a promising future filled with collaborative and boundary-pushing releases.
