For what seems like years at this point, Chance The Rapper and Childish Gambino have been rumored to be working on a secret collab album. Though neither rapper ever revealed a release date or title for the project, joint efforts like “The Worst Guys” and “Favorite Song” led some to believe that there was more to the rappers’ collective discography than just a few tracks.

Both Donald and Chance have been somewhat vocal about the alleged album, acknowledging that it is indeed a goal; but Chance recently shut down the possibility of the work surfacing anytime soon in an interview on Hot 97. “This is gonna hurt peoples feelings, we’re probably not gonna put out a project in reality until we’re like 44,” said the Chicago rapper, “We’ll finally be done working so hard all the time, and we’ll have time to just sit down and make an album full of Dad jokes.”

Even if it may be twenty years down the line, at least we still have some hope.
