Bukkweat Bill has long been making some of the wildest music in the game. He started gaining buzz with songs like “666Forever” and “Judge Judy” but has evolved musically in the years since, showing far more versatility to pair with his strong pen game. Not many artists in the Trap sub-genre use the metaphors and clever wordplay that Bukk does. His unique ability to blend the storytelling with the dark and daunting nature of the music is why his fans are as loyal as they are. His first full release since leaving Relax Rekords, Bukk wanted to make a statement with Trap Demon, and he’s certainly done so. His most cohesive project to date, Bukk paints a picture of New Smyrna Beach, his hometown, and uses his many different voices to convey a multitude of different emotions throughout the entire project. On “Mailbox” Bukk warns outsiders about visiting his hood, but on “Big Dog Little Dog” he makes it seem more like a family atmosphere before again comparing it to Hotel Rwanda on “Torque”. His story is a conflicted one, but one that should be heard nonetheless, the careful balancing of struggle and success. Stream the entire project right here on Elevator. If you missed the video for “Torque” you can also watch that below, “We Be Flexin” visuals coming soon!
