New York City artist =Afika= has been up and coming for the last five years, working hard to express rap and hip-hop in a unique and royal way. =Afika= intentionally engages visual symbolism of his South African roots into his work, especially in his up and coming EP, BLK JON SNO. The title represents his idea of a Black Game of Thrones - "a show about ancient African kingdoms, filled with rich character storylines, drama, and the supernatural. Featuring a Black Jon Snow character."

“Guide Me Home” is honest. =Afika= previewed the video on Facebook saying, “Take a minute right now to find something—church, prayer, meditation, a good book, a phone catchup w an old friend—to guide yourself home.” A melodic confession to a battle with self, “Guide Me Home” is =Afika= asking for a light to be shown on the path in which he can represent himself in the fullest and best way possible. It takes a slower pace than most of his work, and the intermittent spoken-word pieces pair well with the hymns that underlay his vocals. =Afika=’s visual project for BLK JON SNO was produced by Christian Medice (Lovelytheband, HALSEY, P!nk) and is out now.
