It’s no secret that Soulja Boy has been being more extra than usual lately. Obviously there’s two sides of every story, but some sides shine brighter than others. First he started beef with Lil Yachty over a text from an Instagram model and that got blown up way out of proportion.
Then there was his “beef” with Quavo. That one really made no sense. One day Soulja is lip-syncing every word of Quavo’s verse in “Pick Up The Phone” then the next he’s making a diss track talking about pulling up on the Migos’ block with a draco.
He even tossed some shade at Chicago rapper Rico Recklezz, but when Rico actually pulled up to his house in LA, somehow “Big Soulja” ended up across the world in Dubai and Paris. Interesting …
This list could go on forever but his most recent debacle is that he’s now claims to be a crip and is training with Floyd Mayweather to fight Chris Brown.
Of course the internet is shook. His social media following has sky rocketed. He’s trended #1 on Twitter a handful of times in the past 2 months. Even the “Draco” gun is being glorified in the Hip Hop community and it’s popularity is going through the roof.
DJ Akademiks constantly is having to educate us on Soulja’s fuckery as well as dragging him in the process. In fact, there’s thousands of people going in on him. But, at the end of the day, Soulja Boy is getting all attention he wanted.
This entire thing could just be a way to gain relevance in order to promote a future project. He and all the people he’s beefed with could be trolling the whole world and laughing as their monetized views go up.
With a generation that lives for drama, the possibilities are endless.
