This weekend the BET Awards were tapped in Miami. In a year where many talented artists lost their lives, the hip-hop community is admittedly still in an uneasy phase. Vic Mensa decided to throw gasoline on the fires over the weekend when he used his time in the BET Cypher to allegedly disrespect the late XXXTentaction‘s name. While there have been no leaks of the content contained in the freestyle, friends and family of the late South Florida artist did not appreciate Mensa’s slander. Established Florida staple, DJ Scheme took to Twitter to express his displeasure.
When y’all hear Vic Mensas fucking freestyle at the BET awards y’all are going to be fucking disgusted. @VicMensa SUCK MY DICK

Perhaps the most unfortunate bit of news is that X’s mother, Cleo was in attendance to accept awards on X’s behalf, including the hardware for Best New Artist. This, however, is not the first time Mensa has taken offense to X’s relevancy. Back in June, Jay-Z intervened when he heard that Mensa had planned on releasing a diss record on his album, The Autobiography, with X the record’s presumed target.
