<p>Yes, you read that right. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is making a return to the big screen in an official sequel to the 1986 blockbuster starring <strong>Tom Cruise</strong>. The actor appeared on an Australian talk show this morning and wasn’t really expected to answer any questions regarding <em><strong>Top Gun</strong></em> rumors, but surprisingly confirmed the filming and let loose a few details.</p>
<p>After confirming the rumors with a simple “It’s true,” Cruise added “I’m gonna start filming it probably in the next year. It’s happening. It is definitely happening.” The reporters were justifiably shocked at the announcement, as you can see in the clip below.</p>
