Atlanta native and current Los Angeles resident Paul Maxwell‘s latest EP is the definition of controlled chaos. Diamond Dogs leans towards the experimental, with an obvious influence from classic punk and hardcore music, and a clear inspiration drawn from the Awful Records crew, exhibited by the bellicose verse Father delivers on the third track.
The production is heavy with a turbulent atmosphere across the board and Maxwell is able to use his vocals in a variety of ways to stamp every single track with a slightly different emotion. This project was a very entertaining listen and I am extremely excited to continue seeing Paul Maxwell improve as the year progresses.
