Nashville based band Parrotfish tapped their frequent collaborator Callaway Martin for a wonderful new track titled, “Alarms.” This blend of Parrotfish’s deep, soulful singing and Callaway’s pop-rap fusion mesh beautifully over the twanging guitars and hard-hitting drums crafted by the Parrotfish boys.
The lyrical content of this track focuses mainly on a break-up followed by the regret of losing someone you love and the crippling despair and regret that overcomes you until you finally bring them back to you. Both of Parrotfish’s verses feature some relatable lines regarding this predicament. Callaway takes this a step further detailing the self-medication of this pain through his lyrics and the desperation that emanates through his vocal tones.
I really enjoyed this track and am very eager to hear more from this duo as 2019 continues.
