Natalie Green’s new project So Far, So Good is one of my favorite full-length indie offerings of the year, as Green’s vocal performance is masterful from front to back, but the production even outshines his singing at points, giving a diverse palate of soundscapes and approaches every track in a different way, but each comes out wonderfully nonetheless. While the album is certainly distinctly indie and there are no real curveballs, he is able to perform well at each tempo that is heard, as well as mesh with some punkier moods, while also chilling out with some more calm cuts. The excellent guitar playing is a constant, whether it is a more edgy punk riff to melodic acoustic sections, this holds firm as the backbone to the instrumentals from tracks one through twelve. I really enjoyed this and am eager to sit with it more in the coming days.
