Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Allyn is killing the R&B game right now. Last year, she shared her highly-anticipated project, Needed, and the 23-year-old artist has subtly been dropping off visuals. Last month, the songstress shared the visuals for her standout cut titled “50×2.” Today, Allyn exclusively premieres her new brand new music video for “Busy.”

The video takes place in Sacramento, Allyn’s hometown. It’s directed by Shoot Something and catches her surrounded by close friends, having an absolute blast. “Who’s calling me? I don’t know / I ain’t picking up if it ain’t about some dough,” she sings. Check out the video below.

Where did the inspiration for “Busy” come from?

“Busy” was inspired by my lifestyle. I’m a busy young woman and my time is valuable. I don’t like to save people’s numbers anymore unless I know they’ll be in my life for a good reason or for a long time. Plus, I don’t like pointless conversations. I’ve outgrown a few people because they couldn’t keep up with me being on the go. Plus, it’s easy to forget people who aren’t positively affecting me.

Walk me through the visual concept, what is the story behind the video shoot?

I shot “Busy” in Sacramento, my home-town. Even though I’m busy, I’m never too busy to go home and reconnect with my loved ones. In the video, you’ll see me and a few of my friends just having fun with each other. It was raining really hard that day and it was like 40 degrees outside, but we made it happen nonetheless.

Can we expect more tunes like this from you on your next full-length project?

On my next project, I want to do something more musical and showcase my musical ability. I play multiple instruments so I really want to incorporate that more.

What can we expect from Allyn this year?

People can expect more music, more visuals, exclusive merch, and a lot more collaborations this year.

Is there anything or anyone, in particular, you’re working with right now?

I wish I could express it all but you’ll just have to see.
