South Central LA artist Sham1016‘s Fade EP is a very solid project from a rapper who appears to be equally adept in the lyrical department as well as the stylistic one. Technically, his rapping skill is phenomenal, but he is also a clever lyricist and vibrant storyteller, making for a very entertaining listen. When Sham was asked about this project and his feelings towards it he stated, “I wanted to make sure that when you heard this EP, you got a real idea of who I am as a person, as an artist. That’s why it’s different sounds that make one overall sound. You gon’ have your street shit where I’m talking about the dead homies family and the homies and family members locked up because that’s what I go through in real life.” Sham1016 does a fantastic job of accomplishing his personal goals for the EP and I am eager to see what else he has for us in the future. The only features on this project are from the fantastic LA rapper Airplane James and Adrian Javon.
