Hip-Hop is often rooted in machismo. Very rarely, is it seen as, “cool” to bare your emotions, especially if they center around women. Luckily, this trend has been shattered in recent years, and gave birth to rising studs like I Hate Andy, who checks back in with his sad, but infectious new record, “It’s Okay.”

Produced by, Dev The Goon, “It’s Okay” is a Lo-Fi, downhearted record that’s deeply rooted in its sorrows. With Andy providing incredibly infectious crooning throughout the hook, the track at times teeters on feeling like a Rock song, which only adds to the angst of the record. Andy utilizes the simple, but stout production to leave no emotion unchecked, as he lays it all on the table for us to hear, creating an intense, personal experience with the listener.

While Andy may not be your everyday Hip-Hop star, his melodic presence is one that’s sorely needed in the genre. Press play below and get familiar for yourself.
