LA-based artist ihateyouALX was a standout submission in our inbox recently and we already are big fans after hearing his project Corazon that gives several intimate vignettes of the youthful talent’s life. His tracks are breezy and laid-back and instrumentally he blurs the lines of alternative-pop and hip-hop and this blend of head-knocking percussion and smooth strings and synths set the ideal backdrop for ALX to shine. He has a sweet singing voice and bars that don’t overwhelm you with wordiness, but his intentions are always clear and verses are concise. Features come from Lil Ugly Jit, KB Devaughn (whose guest appearance is my favorite), and Nick Reed. I am eager to see what else ihateyouALX has in his bag.
