Huddy Leango’s debut album is filled with the angsts and rebellion of adolescence, falling in love, and frustrations of new adulthood and going to school. His opening track “sedatives” begins the album with a story of substance abuse and the numbing of pain.
The rest of the track continues this narrative of youthful anxieties and recklessness. Huddy Leango appeals to all youths by bringing about relatable emotions, rapping over guitar-based trap beats with a variety of flows at hand.
This was an impressive debut from the rapper and I look forward to seeing him continue to fill his soundscape with more nuance and variety, as well as expand his ability to tell stories.
