I initially started following Half-Empty back in 2017 after he shared a poignant tweet of his reunion with a longtime and rather unlikely Words With Friends opponent. To my surprise, not only does he enjoy iPhone games, but I quickly learned that the soon-to-be 24-year-old is a rising voice with a DMV flow.
Back in October, the DMV artist released “Irene!,” a sultry ballad to a mystery woman that he wrote and produced himself. Not too long after its release, Half and his team spent a good amount of time in Tokyo filming a visual for the song.
Directed, filmed, and edited by Anselmo with B-roll shots by Tanner Jarman, the video features split-screen footage of the young artist rapping at various spots in Tokyo. His first time out of the country, it is evident throughout that Half was madly excited during the making of this visual and his trip overall.
The video is available exclusively on our YouTube account. Be on the look-out for more music by the multi-talented artist in the future. And Half, if you’re reading this, happy birthday.
