At a tight 2 minutes and 11 seconds, “Toss Up” never overstays its welcome, finding Darci somewhere between his comfort zone that fans have come to expect and new territory as he speeds his flow up, alternating pitch from high bars to low ones for a refreshing take on his staple sound. Production from Darci’s go-to collaborator Rance Riley makes for a perfect match as the mid-tempo beat meshes with layered samples and melodic basslines for a mesmeric instrumental. Darci says he’s just getting started with this drop and promises more music is on the way to follow.
