New and Improved for 2020

Bryan Zawlocki
Editor-In-Chief

Welcome to ELEVATOR’s New Submission System. It’s been about a year in the making but we are finally live! We’ve rebuilt the entire system from the ground up to provide Artists, Producers, Directors, Labels, PR and Promotion companies a better experience submitting new content to ELEVATOR. What this means is that, although we will no longer be accepting submissions via email, dm or text message, we will be able to review much more content, more efficiently. In turn, providing you, the artist, a much better experience and better promotional & editorial coverage when submitting to ELEVATOR. And you, the fan, with much more consistently high-quality musical content you love! It’s a win-win-win for 2020. Please read our short FAQ on the new system below, sign up and stay tuned as we will be working to regularly improve and add new features to the platform.

Why did we build a new submission system?

Our current submission system has worked great over the last 3 years but there were several improvements we wanted to make and features we wanted to add that required a total rebuild.

1. We wanted to give users the ability to track their submission history and stay better updated on their status.

The new system allows users to log in and see their entire submission history, if and when they have been reviewed by ELEVATOR staff and whether each submission was accepted or declined.

2. We wanted to be able to save user social links.

With the new system, users will be able to add their social media links as well as add credits with social links for producers, directors and featured artists which helps ELEVATOR’s staff share and credit your content on social media and saves your fingers from having to copy and paste your social links for every submission.

3. We wanted to be able to more quickly create articles featuring your content.

The new system allows us to more quickly access your submission metadata when writing articles. With the old system, all submission information had to be copied and pasted into articles and video uploads. This sucked.

4.  We wanted to give Artists we’ve built relationships with a better way to submit content.

The old submission system did not have user accounts, which meant we did not have the ability to give anyone priority attention. This has lead to artists we follow or have relationships with to resort to simply dming, emailing or texting us new content. These methods are all extremely difficult for the ELEVATOR staff to keep track of and manage. The new submission system allows us to better keep track of all submitted content. So please, if we follow you or have direct relationships with ELEVATOR’s staff, sign up for the new system and you will no longer be in the dark of whether or not we’ve checked out your new song or music video! and Thank You in advance.

Who is the submission system for?

Artists, Producers, Directors, Labels, PR & Promotion companies.

How much does it cost to submit?

Our Standard Submission fee is $3.99. This fee covers the time it takes our staff to review your content and select the best content submissions to be shared with our audience. Paid Placements and 3-Day Featured Placements cost $150 and $450 respectively. We still DO NOT accept payments for youtube uploads or Instagram posts.

How does the new Submission System work?

Very similar to the old system however we’ve broken it up into a few step process.

  • Step 1. Fill out your name and email

This is the email that will be used to create your account. Please use your legal name as this will be important for future features including music uploads and distribution.

  • Step 2.  Content

Add a streaming link to your content, submission title, a preferred featured image and content description. Our preferred content links are Youtube, Soundcloud & Spotify. Link tree services are great and will be accepted, however, we have not yet implemented them fully into the system. You may use non-public links like Youtube Unlisted links, DropBox, Google Drive and private Soundcloud links, HOWEVER, please make sure these are private SHAREABLE links, as if your link is ‘invite only’ or ‘request access only’, we will not be able to view your content and your submission will be declined. In the description, please give us as much information about your content and the people involved as possible. This helps our writers create much more engaging articles for your fans and our audience.

  • Step 3.  Credits

You now can add credits for featured artists, producers and directors for your content. If the person already has an ELEVATOR Submissions account you will be able to search and attach them to your submission. If the person does not have an ELEVATOR Submission account you can manually add their creative name and social media links. Please add all creatives involved in your submission, it not only helps your content to get shared but it’s also the respectful thing to do. People love credit for their hard work.

  • Step 4.  Options

Select whether you would like to submit a Standard Submission $3.99, a Paid Placement $150.00 or $450.00 3-Day Featured Placement. Standard Submissions are subject to our approval process. Accepted Standard Submissions are written about by ELEVATOR staff, are added to our Approved Submissions playlists on various platforms and often featured on our social media channels. Paid Placements are not subject to review, however, they do not receive any editorial write up by ELEVATOR Staff and are only shared on twitter. Featured Placements are the same as Paid Placements with the addition of remaining in the Featured Article section of the site for 3 Days.

  • Step 5. Review & Check Out

Double-check and make sure all your submission information is correct and choose your payment method. You can check out with Paypal or Credit Card. ELEVATOR does not store ANY of your payment data and transactions are completely secured by PayPal and Stripe.

And that’s it! All users will receive email updates on whether or not their submissions have been accepted or declined or you can log in at any time to check its status and view where your accepted content has been shared.

What are Preferred Accounts?

Accounts that prove to consistently submit high-quality content on a consistent basis will be granted a Preferred Account. Preferred Accounts will be given access to additional features, early access to new features and receive priority content reviews.
