One of the (many) beautiful things about music is its ability to touch and move us regardless of the language its in. Case in point is Ada Betsabé‘s new track, “Aumento.” The Dominican Republic-born, Boston-residing artist sings/raps in Spanish on it, but, even if you don’t understand the words she’s saying, you’ll surely vibe to its smooth, sneakily tough sound.
It’s always a testament to an artist’s creativity when they elect to blend languages, and, certainly, Ada succeeds in mixing Spanish and English on this. Listen below, therefore, and be on the lookout for more from her this year.
