There is an emerging rap duo emerging out of Oakland comprised of emcees ovrkast and demahjiae and they go by do more. The pair of lyricists have recently banded together and have a handful of songs that are heavily lyrical and riddled with bars. They initially emit Earl, Mavi, Medhane vibes with the methodical and deep delivery with the words slewing into each other over a great low-fi instrumental provided by Mejiwahn. They certainly fall into that lyrical niche as their verses are profound and certainly will require a lot of analysis to pick apart what their messages are, and I personally love when I get to do that.
The music video, titled “NO”, is quite unique and it is captured by Flatspot_ who displays the duo in a retro-themed, black and white visual that looks like it was filmed on a VCR. The duo sits in place as a projector goes over their faces and on to a blank background as each artist takes their turn flowing to the camera. Nonetheless, it perfectly reflects the aesthetic of the track perfectly and will have every viewer intrigued for this mindful three-minute offering.
