You might not have heard the name Dark Knight Luv yet – but you soon will. Dark Knight Luv is the ‘earth’ or stage name of rising star Gabriel Humphrey (Gabriel, like the Archangel) who hails from Houston, Texas but who has set his sights on infinity and beyond.
Why you’ll be hearing of him soon – and hearing from him soon – is simply because he is poised for a major musical breakthrough, that has its roots in both rock and hip-hop. Dark Knight Luv already released one killer self-titled album in 2019 and his latest video – “Guitar Hero” sensationally hit huge viewing figures on its release.

Like one of his musical heroes Prince, Dark Knight Luv bridges the gap between a hip hop artist and a rockstar. Born in 2001 (or as he sees it, choosing the Earth for his home) Dark Knight Love is influenced both by the sound and the spectacle. His vital visual sense can already be seen in the stylish loose-limbed, loping music video “Heavy Metal” and the starkly different hand-held Verite of “Supersonic” from his eponymous first album. Other early influences on Dark Knight Luv, like Michael Jackson, Trippie Redd, and Juice WRLD also seamlessly blend high octane music with video.
In fact, you can see traces of greats like Kravitz, Hendrix and many other icons, not just in his music but in his ability to fuse genres.
Dark Knight Luv, however, is first and foremost a true original, with a sound and a look all of his own. As well as hip-hop and rock, some of his fans see similarities in parts of his work to chilled DreamLand beats, with old-school warmth and emotional vibes. Dark Knight Luv doesn’t believe in narrow definitions or pigeonholing music. He rejects false boundaries and so should we all.

To understand more where Dark Knight Luv is coming from, you need to delve a little into his background. A music lover since childhood, growing up in Huston, Dark Knight Luv also was an accomplished TV child actor, appearing in many shows from Nickelodeon, Disney, and NCIS. Around 2014, he decided to move his focus squarely on his music and make his steps towards the stars.
Today, Dark Knight Luv also works with the Transcendent Arts Collective and other local Houston artists, to bring an all-round approach to his unique and exciting artistry.
