It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from the LA-based rapper-songwriter, honestly. With his last album having been released in 2015 with Live & Grow, Casey has taken a bit of time off from the scene, but as of now this hiatus seems to be over with his latest single titled “Mirage”. Casey Veggies’ sound has always kept him in a lane of his own, as he’s never adapted or manipulated his own style for the sake of being likable. That just comes on its own. Casey takes up an old-school chill approach in this new track, bringing us back in touch with those feelings of nostalgia and reminiscence over the good ol’ days.

60 shows, we just runnin’ around/With Mac Meezy on tour in your town/Long Live Mac Miller..” cut straight to my core—with a song like “Can I Live”, blasting me back to that time period. Much peace, love and respects to Mac Miller and huge thanks to Casey for paying homage to such dope moments we were able to experience through that duration of time, a time where the music just spoke differently. Although, Casey does seem to be tired of the illusions and misapprehensions when it comes to his expressiveness, especially in the current state of rap in general. Just under 4 minutes, Casey proves his point using clean-cut lyrical structure over mastered production and impressive piano keys provided by Mike & Keys.
