Black Belt Eagle Scout, signed to the wonderful indie label Saddle Creek Records, has returned with a new melancholic single titled “At the Party.” She characterizes her sound as a mix of “alt-rock and Native American traditions,” making for delightful slow-burning rock ballads that offer a sort of convoluted solace, given that they are mildly depressing yet cathartic in nature. This track and this band are both equally awesome and I am eager for another Black Belt Eagle Scout project in the future.
