Not one, not two, but three pleasant listening experiences emerging out of the English-singing community in Pakistan.

Bilal Baloch (stylized as blal bloch) released an EP called Vagabond that was recorded in Urdu. Now, he has pledged to no longer record any songs in that language. The good news is that the singer’s songs in English are very, very good. They are emotive snapshots of longing and yearning and wishing and desiring and honesty and all of that good stuff.

The first song “signs” has to be the most pensive and the one brimming with the most promise. The tact pairing of the vocals and the production deliver a rippling, arresting sound. Don’t move listening to this, or you may miss something.

Here’s where the gruff in the vocals come out to play. The influence from the blues make their presence known here.

The closest thing to hip-hop sensibility within the artist’s discography appears in the verses and the song structure here.
