Atlanta’s Grandma pivots to his solo artistry with his new video for “Shallow Water,” and from the first thirty seconds of this track, I promise you will be hooked. Sonically the track is bright and bubbly, filled with uplifting percussion and spacey, sanguine synths, but the appeal to this track goes far beyond its instrumental. Grandma’s vocals are the ideal blend of high-pitched and light, but he is able to flip a switch in his range and add a new layer of excitement as he crescendoes to accent the main vocal pattern on the hook. “Shallow Water” is already one of my favorite tracks this year and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
