“Philadelphia rappers Abrax Phaeton and Jeff Kush have grown viral popularity over the last few years with superior lyricism, organic growth, and consistency. Taking a page out of Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek playbook (“Dear Summer”), the two rising stars come together for a new Summer track, “Old Tings”.
Produced by Cloudberry Road with a guest appearance by Addison’s Brandon on the hook. Phaeton and Kush rap about their trials and tribulations in following your dreams. Playing off each others strengths, Abrax delivers a strong metaphor while Jeff assists with slick egotistical but self-confident wordplay.
Like Jay gave “Dear Summer” to Bleek in 2005, returning a favor from Bleek’s assist on “Coming of Age” for Reasonable Doubt (1996). Abrax’s “Old Tings” is slated to appear on Jeff Kush upcoming new project, dropping later this summer under Kush Network imprint. The new album is the follow-up to Kush’s 2018 effort, Obliteration. Along with “Old Tings”, the new album will feature Kush’s latest release, “Don’t Sweat”.”
